Patty Jenkins will be re-teaming with Gal Gadot and company for Wonder Woman 2. This is a sure bet. Even if you’re not a gambler, you’d take your chance with this one. But when Jenkins announced last week that Kristen Wiig would be joining the cast as the fan-favorite villain, Cheetah, some eyebrows were raised. I’m not going to lie… this one seemed a little bit out of left field for me. But I trust Jenkins. And I trust Warner Bros. This is one bet I’m willing to take.
According to essentially everyone who matters outside of the Academy and the Golden Globe goons, Wonder Woman was the movie of the year. Needless to say, a modern-day Diana fighting against a live-action Cheetah is just what we need in 2019. WB and DC rolls the dice often, which may make them a bit controversial, but at least it gets people in the theaters.
