Legendary director Wes Craven has died.  Variety reports that the filmmaker, famous for such works as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Red Eye, and dozens of other beloved films, was fighting brain cancer.  He was 76.

A man known in some circles as “the nicest guy in the horror business” and “the master of suspense” over last four decades, Craven will be missed.  May his stories, both on the screen and in his own life, live on forever.
